For kind attention CM Naib Saini. Haryana Cabinet meeting at Gurugram-Expectations of its residents few suggestions in public interest.

Gustakhi Maaf, Haryana- Pawan Kumar Bansal.

The Haryana Cabinet is scheduled to meet in Gurugram on Wednesday. Our enlightened readers, including Mr. R.K. Garg, Retired EIC (Irrigation), Haryana, have shared their expectations on this occasion.
We, the residents of Gurugram, welcome the Haryana Cabinet to the city for its upcoming meeting. The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mr. Nayab Saini, frequently visits Gurugram to preside over the monthly grievances committee meetings. It is therefore only natural for residents to expect better quality local governance—something that, unfortunately and regrettably, has often been lacking.
Gurugram is a clear case of a missed opportunity. A greenfield city had the potential to evolve into a world-class international hub, but for the nexus between politicians, bureaucrats, and builders, this vision has remained unrealized. The present government has an opportunity to revisit the city’s planning and implement corrections based on sound professional advice.
In the meantime, we request the Hon’ble Chief Minister to address some pressing day-to-day concerns, a few of which are listed below:
Encroachments on Public Spaces
Footpaths and sections of service roads are widely encroached upon by street vendors and unauthorized establishments, making pedestrian movement unsafe. Even after 80 years of independence, why are we unable to enforce laws effectively and curb such illegalities?
Traffic and Parking Issues
Traffic conditions are chaotic, with nearly 30–40% of road space occupied by parked vehicles due to inadequate parking infrastructure. Where unavoidable, parking must be properly regulated, with clearly marked and controlled spaces.
Cleanliness and Waste Management
Cleanliness remains a serious concern, with the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram failing to ensure proper waste disposal. Garbage is often dumped indiscriminately along roadsides. Even in upscale areas like DLF Phase 5, heaps of waste can be seen on Paras Road, making it difficult for residents to walk. Similar conditions prevail in many other areas.
Waterlogging and Drainage
Waterlogging and poor drainage continue to plague the city. There appears to be a lack of technical expertise within GMDA. We suggest involving experienced irrigation engineers and placing detailed plans in the public domain.
Lack of Green Spaces
The city suffers from a shortage of green spaces, and urban planning has not adequately addressed this need. Even in privately developed areas such as those by DLF, green space provisions are minimal. The Biodiversity Park should be expanded, possibly extending up to Vasant Kunj in Delhi. While maintenance has improved, it still requires greater attention and vision.
Road Quality and Public Infrastructure
The quality of roads needs significant improvement, and the concerned engineering departments must be held accountable. Additionally, the construction of the Civil Hospital building should be expedited.
Tailpiece: A few months ago, Mr. Rajesh Khullar, CPS to the Chief Minister, spent a week in Gurugram to improve cleanliness. Unfortunately, the effort has yielded little visible result.
