Haryana assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan should take suo motu cognisance of wrestler turned MLA Vinesh Phogat’s allegations that she is one of Brij Bhushan’s six victims.

I am a victim in the sexual harassment case involving Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh,” alleges Vinesh Phogat, Olympian wrestler and Congress MLA from the Julana constituency in Haryana.
The Speaker of the Haryana Assembly, Harvinder Kalyan, should take suo motu cognisance of these serious allegations, as Ms. Phogat is a sitting MLA. He should call her, record her statement, and summon Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. As Speaker, it is his responsibility to safeguard the dignity and self-respect of legislators.
If the Speaker fails to act, the Leader of the Opposition, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, should seek the summoning of a special session of the Assembly to deliberate on the issue.
