Gustakhi Maaf Haryana – Pawan Kumar Bansal
Old Memories
When ex Chief Election Commissioner of India S.Y. Quraishi said, “I wonder that why so far Enforcement Directorate had not raided Pawan Kumar Bansal’s house despite his critical reports daily?”
Occasion was Golden Jubilee celebrations of mine five decades as an investigative journalist. There was pin drop silence in the hall for few minutes, but then Quraishi unfolded the mystery: “Director Intelligence Bureau might have told PM Modi that raiding Bansal’s house will be embarrassing for the government as only books and papers will be found there.”
Four hundred enlightened readers, including retired Army Chief Suhag sahib, had graced the function. Azad Kaushik came from Toronto to witness the function.
If not accused of self praise, then our enlightened reader Jaibhagwan Hooda, retired senior functionary of Reserve Bank of India, has commented about the function:
“I attended the felicitation ceremony of Investigative journalist Pawan Kumar Bansal ji on completing his 50 years in journalism, organised by Advocate Abhay Jain (Convenor of Manav Awaz NGO) and graced by many eminent personalities of Haryana, including Ex. Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag, Ex HRERA Gurugram Chairman K.K. Khandelwal and many others, Chief Guest being ex Chief Election Commissioner Dr. S.Y. Quraishi.”
