The Jat agitation had subtle backing from Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his associates. Had the police acted decisively on the very first day, much of the damage and loss could have been prevented. However, for several days, the police force was kept on standby as then Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar appeared unsure of how to handle the situation.
Khattar lacked clarity, vision, and decisive leadership during the crisis. His indecisiveness weakened the administrative response and gradually rendered the bureaucratic machinery of Haryana ineffective and inert.

Comments of Dr phaugat on jat agitation and MLKhatter’s indecisiveness are not correct.Khattar new very well that jat agitation had the backing of all jat leaders of all political parties,including bjp. He allowed the jat agitation violence to escalate to such an extent that it created fear into the minds of non jats.Similarly he did not use force against farmers’agitation because he knew that jat khaps were behind this agitation in haryana ,non jats were forced to join this agitation to show that all communities supported it? Khattar did not use force when jat khaps boycotted the bjp leaders from entering villages for convassing for their candìdates.And the result was obvious. A fear psychosis was created into the minds of non jats that if congress under hooda was voted to power,they will play havoc on them,and lo ,it resulted into mass silent resolve against jat dominant congress leadership.
The result surprised everyone .This was a strategic move by bjp leaders to project obc Saini as chief minister..And they won it hands down.Jatland leadership of hooda crumbled down under its own weight…..DIL KE ARMAN ANSHUON MEIN BEH GAYE……..
