What a great teacher of human philosophy Deepak is. Who is Deepak Mohamad?

Deepak is a 45-year-old healthy gym owner in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand. A 70-year-old Muslim shop owner, Vakeel Ahmed, has been running a shop branded as Baba School Dress on the market road at Kotdwar for the last 30 years.

On 26th January 2026, a mob of 40 zealots came to the shop and asked the old man to remove the tag of “Baba”, as it could be used by Hindu shopkeepers only. Deepak came and confronted the crowd and virtually saved the Muslim shopkeeper from harassment. The crowd asked his name and Deepak replied, “I am Deepak Mohamad,” in order to convey his secular credentials.

The next day, a bigger crowd reached his house and asked him to come out, but the police saved the situation. The police also did a good job by filing two FIRs against the miscreants.

Now right-wingers are hurling all kinds of abuses at Deepak on social media handles, calling him a traitor. On the other hand, Deepak is spreading the message of love on his Instagram, saying,
“I am neither a Hindu, nor a Muslim, nor a Sikh, nor a Christian. I am a human being. I have to appear before God after my death, where I will be judged for my human actions and not religious activities. Therefore, I request every individual with folded hands to spread the message of love instead of hatred.”

He also says that he is not scared of the daily threats he is receiving.
