First came the drama of suspension of the Registrar by the Vice-Chancellor, followed by his reinstatement by the Governor-cum-Chancellor of the University. Now, the additional charge of Vice-Chancellor of MDU Rohtak has been given to Somnath Sachdeva, Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University. The term of Rajbir Singh, Vice-Chancellor of MDU, has been completed.

Tailpiece: One should update one’s general knowledge that Kurukshetra is closest to MDU, Rohtak, in comparison to the Health Universities of Rohtak and Karnal, and other universities located at Khanpur, Sonepat, Murthal, Bhiwani, Jind, Hisar, and Gurgaon. It is understood that there are a large number of senior Professors, Deans, and Heads in these universities. Surprisingly, none of them has been considered suitable to officiate as Vice-Chancellor of MDU. Former HOD of the Law Department of MDU, Dr. K. P. S. Mahalwar, has commented: “It does not show farsightedness of the Chancellor. Giving charge to someone who is already engrossed with his own agenda, while ignoring senior professors of MDU itself as well as several other universities adjoining Rohtak, is not appropriate. The Chancellor should be guided by his own experience and wisdom.”
