“Gustakhi Maaf Haryana” has highlighted how alleged irregularities were committed in the interview process for the selection of HCS (Judicial Branch) officers. Meritorious candidates who scored higher marks in the written test were awarded very low marks in the interview, while those who secured comparatively lower marks in the written test were given the highest marks in the interview.

The interviews were conducted by a nine-member Board comprising six Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, along with the Chairman of the Haryana Public Service Commission, the Advocate General, and the Chief Secretary of Haryana.

Aggrieved candidates filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court of India, which directed them to first approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notices, granting six months’ time for filing replies.

The aggrieved candidates had prayed for preponement of the hearing of the main case.
