Gustakhi Maaf Haryana— Pawan Kumar Bansal
Thanks to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for initiating the process to bring the transfer of shares/membership in Cooperative Group Housing Societies under the ambit of the Right to Service Act.

Recall that, in my capacity as Convenor of the NGO “Citizens for Responsibility, Accountability and Transparency”, I had written to the Haryana Chief Minister highlighting how officials in the office of the Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, often harass members during the transfer of society memberships.
It may also be recalled that, following my sting operation, three inspectors from the office of the Assistant Registrar, Gurugram, were suspended after they were caught on camera allegedly demanding ₹7.5 lakh for the transfer of 30 memberships.
Raghubir Singh Kadian had raised the issue in the Haryana Assembly, following which the Speaker proudly announced their suspension. Shockingly, they were reinstated after some time. Tailpiece: T. C. Gupta has taken up the matter with the government.
