Gustakhi Maaf Haryana: Pawan Kumar Bansal
A recent viral video from Hisar, showing an intoxicated woman creating a ruckus and misbehaving with the police, has grabbed widespread attention. The incident has also brought back memories of a time when such episodes were not captured on camera or shared across social media.
The old episode is equally intriguing. It involved a beautiful woman heavily under the influence of alcohol, an IAS officer, an IPS officer, and a well-known “Lal” from Haryana.
According to the account, one late night in Chandigarh, an intoxicated woman rammed her car into a police vehicle. She then created a scene at the spot, hurling abuses at police officers one after another. In a threatening tone, she reportedly said, “I have just come from Lal’s residence—I will have all of you suspended.”
At that time, Chandigarh’s SSP was a South Indian officer, while the Deputy Commissioner was an IAS officer from the Haryana cadre. The situation quickly turned sensitive, as it involved the name of an influential “Lal” from Haryana.
To manage the situation, the SSP immediately contacted the IAS officer. As the matter escalated, it eventually reached the “Lal” himself. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he too became concerned.
In the end, the issue was handled with discretion and resolved peacefully. The woman was safely escorted back to her home.
Had mobile cameras and social media existed then as they do today, this incident too might have gone viral—just like the recent case in Hisar.
