DGP issue settled now all eyes on new Chief Secretary- Sudhir Rajpal or Dr Sumita Mishra- Role of Rajesh Khullar CPS is being watched
Gustakhi Maaf Haryana —Pawan Kumar Bansal
After Alok Mittal, Arshinder Chawla and Ajay Singhal (for DGP), now Sudhir Rajpal or Dr. Sumita Mishra — who for Chief Secretary?
The DGP issue has been settled with Ajay Singhal proving a dark horse. Now the million-dollar question is: who will be the Chief Secretary?
Although the present Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi has sufficient time left before retirement, his surgery followed by two months of bed rest has necessitated the search for a new CS, as the post cannot be kept vacant. Recall that Rastogi was given a one-year extension in service (for the first time in the history of Haryana).
Lobbying is going on, and the role of Rajesh Khullar, CPS, who has strong likes and dislikes, is being keenly watched. At the same time, it is argued that CM Naib Saini, who has partially come out of the “dummy” tag by appointing Ajay Singhal as DGP, will have the final say in the selection of the Chief Secretary.
Tailpiece:
Destiny is big has been proved beyond doubt, as OP Singh and Ajay Singhal were destined to be the DGP. The suicide of IG Y. Puran Kumar cleared the way for their appointment as DGP; otherwise, Mr. Shatrujit Kapoor could have continued as DGP. The suicide led to Kapoor going on leave and the appointment of OP Singh as DGP. Singh tried his best for an extension but could not get it, resulting in the appointment of Ajay Singhal, who will have a two-year fixed tenure.
Tailpiece:
Haryana is a land of wonders, as there is no regular ACS (Revenue), and Dr. Sumita Mishra is holding additional charge of the post.

Praying for his speedy recovery.
