When a lady IPS Officer “ lay prostrate” in uniform in front of the then PM,Chandra Shekhar, at his Bhondsi Ashram in Gurugram for getting her husband’ s transfer to a nearby place of her posting.

” I was posted as SP of Faridabad when a lady IPS officer wanted her husband to be posted in Faridabad against me. She virtually had laid herself prostrate before Chandra Shekhar in uniform and made a request. Chandra Shekhar obliged her by ringing up the then CM,Om Parkash Chautala for doing the needful. Before Chautala could tell him that Resham Singh was then posted as SP.Faridabad, by a quirk of fate Chandra Shekhar unintentionally disconnected the phone. Resham Singh was having a good equation with Chandra Shekhar even before the latter became the Prime Minister .He went to meet him at Bhondsi resort.
When he met Chandra Shekhar , the latter enquired where he was posted. Resham told him he was posted at Faridabad. When Chandra Shekhar learnt that,he explained that on the request of a lady IPS officer,he had just rung up Chautala and told him to post her husband at Faridabad. Realising his “hasty action”, Chandra Shekhar asked Resham to connect him to Chautala on phone .
Chandra Shekhar told Chautala not to disturb Resham Singh.This is how Resham managed to remain posted at Faridabad,a prime station in during those days.Resham was also told by Anil Dabra a Haryana cadre IPs officer ,who at that time was with SPG that the lady officer was murmuring something regarding transfer of her husband before Chandra Shekhar.
