The Tribune Sponsoring Real Estate Exhibitions; Founder Dayal Singh Majithia’s Legacy Questioned

Gustakhi Maaf Haryana – Pawan Kumar Bansal

The soul of Sh. Dayal Singh Majithia, the founder of The Tribune, must be crying in heaven. The Tribune newspaper has started sponsoring real estate exhibitions. When a prestigious newspaper like The Tribune sponsors such events, investors naturally gain confidence.

However, The Tribune is no longer what it used to be. Some time ago, at the request of the Chief Minister of Haryana, the reporter who used to cover Haryana was transferred far away. In another instance, a reporter was transferred after publishing news about irregularities related to the son of a Vice Chancellor from a university in Haryana.

Ramesh Gupta, an aware reader from Narwana (Jind), who has had around 700 letters published in The Tribune’s “Letters to the Editor” column and has been associated with the newspaper for five decades, says:

“The paper shouldn’t sponsor builders’ expos, as many such builders turn out to be fraudsters. Just last week, the World Trade Centre, a prominent builder in Mohali, abandoned this once-prestigious landmark project, leaving hundreds of helpless investors stuck with losses of around ₹500 crores. GBP, Sushma… the list is long.”
