The functioning of Neki Ram Medical College in Bhiwani has come under scrutiny, with the Haryana government facing criticism over alleged administrative and operational failures.
According to sources, the medical college staff have not received their salaries for several months, leading to growing dissatisfaction among employees. Adding to the issue, Bhiwani Civil Hospital has reportedly barred the college faculty from using its operation theatres.
It is noteworthy that operation theatre and emergency services are yet to become functional within the medical college itself. Officials at the Civil Hospital, including the CMO and PMO, stated that they have not received any directives from the government allowing the medical college faculty to use the hospital’s operation theatres. However, they mentioned that such facilities may be permitted only in emergency situations.
As a result, doctors at the medical college are currently limited to providing only OPD (Outpatient Department) services, as they do not have access to surgical facilities either within the college or at the Civil Hospital.
This situation has caused significant inconvenience to the general public, who are being deprived of essential healthcare services. It has also raised serious concerns regarding the utilization of approximately ₹500 crore reportedly spent over the past 12 years to establish the institution, with many questioning the government’s handling of the project.
